My name is Sheila Adkins. I am 46 years old, and was born in Humble,
Texas and spent my childhood there and in Baybridge,Texas until 1970,
when my family moved to Letona, Arkansas. I have loved music since I was
very young. I can remember standing on my grandmother’s front porch in
Texas at the age of four or five, with my cousin Kati singing "Harper
Valley PTA" of all things.

My family has always been involved in Church, singing in quartets, the
choir, and gathered around the piano. I really started getting involved
more in performing music after I wrote a song in tribute to my
grandfather, Albert P. Hopper. My grandfather passed away and I sat
down one morning and just started writing, thinking about him. It turned
out to be a song called "Grandpa Stood Up For Jesus". It is indeed a
touching tribute to his memory.

I have performed in county and state fairs, weddings, country clubs,
picnics, political functions, bluegrass festivals, and the Chuck Wagon
Races in Clinton, Arkansas. I won the Colgate Country Showdown in my
county and progressed to the Arkansas State Finals. One of my songs
(“I Don’t want to Fool around" - written by Mary K. VanOven) reached
number 33 on the Independent Charts. I had the honor of singing with
Bobby G. Rice during a performance in Benton AR. I also write a lot of
my own material, and play rhythm guitar.
